Creosote
Preservatives made using creosote are mainly used for commercial purposes. It can give a thick black or a yellowish colour on wood.
Water-based treatments
These preservatives are easy to apply, quick-drying, low VOC and low odour.
Alkaline copper quaternary
Widely used for fence posts, decking, landscape ties and utility poles, alkaline copper quaternary treatments are free of arsenic, making them ideal for residential projects.
Micronized copper
It has solid copper which gives the wood a light colour.
